We have both
had a very special connection to dogs and animals since our
childhood and the Cozy Mountain Pet Resort is very much a dream come
true for us.
How we got here
Prior to buying our home with the pet resort we lived in Whistler
for seven years. Whistler is a true dog town and despite living in a
ski-in/ski-out townhome on Blackcomb Mountain, Michelle spent nearly
every weekend and day-off she had taking friends' and neighbors'
dogs for hikes and outings, as well as having them as guests in our
home for extended periods of time. When the home, property, and
pet resort business went up for sale, it seemed like the perfect
match.
It was! It has been an incredibly exciting and successful couple of
years at the Cozy. We have had over 300 new dog guests on top of
more than 150 regular doggies. The key to our operation is our
policy to only accept well-trained and well-socialized dogs and our
limit of 12-16 dogs per day.
Our backgrounds and experience
Michelle's background includes a lifetime of pet care, many years of
professional child care, and a bit of business and accounting.
Michelle is the Leader of the Cozy Mountain Pet Resort. Rob is a
Learning Specialist and Counselor for Capilano College at the Ts'zil
Learning Centre in Mount Currie. Between
us, someone is here 24 hours a day. We also have part-time dog
lovers on staff to ensure that the dogs get plenty of attention,
exercise, and cuddles.
Our philosophy
We believe in providing your dog with the same type of experience
and care that we would want for our dog– a safe, natural, open,
free-range environment to play throughout the day in, other well
socialized dogs to play with, a home-like setting to sleep in, and
lots of love and attention from the hosts. We hope to exceed your expectations in every
way.
